Every day is different in my job as Project and Delivery Manager and this suits my energetic personality. Since I joined ThoughtRiver in November 2018, in a dynamically changing environment, I have brought together many moving pieces to drive through many product releases.

kirsty-aldertonI manage a team of TechOps engineers based out of our Cambridge office and guide the team to provide resilient access for our clients across the globe. I oversee technical support and have a key role in deciding what will be in future product releases. One of the most exciting aspects of the role, is to collaborate with my colleagues and work with clients to create innovative, new platform features.

So how can I perform such a varied role? Over the years, working in many diverse technical roles, ranging from Training Manager, Client Services Director to Director of Technologies, I have accumulated a broad and deep range of skills. Looking back over my career, I have noticed a recurrent theme. I am always motivated to introduce new technologies, manage clients and interact with people. I was attracted to ThoughtRiver, not only because of the exciting technology but more importantly, because of the talented teams that develop and support the platform.

I have worked in finance, publishing, telecoms and education but being new to Legal Tech has been exhilarating, to see the fast growth of technology in such an established domain, with so many opportunities to change and improve working practices. Coming from a strong technical background, it is refreshing to be working with a talented legal team, who want to make a difference. In between the vibrant, sometimes crazy days, where time disappears, I love the opportunity to switch working locations between the Cambridge office, the technical heart of the company and client focused City office where the majority of our legal team reside.

As a balance to my demanding work life, I can be found engrossed in a jigsaw puzzle, cooking for a large family, singing in a choir, lost in the delights of oil painting and recently my latest addiction is listening to audio books whilst travelling between locations. It has been an exciting and challenging four months at ThoughtRiver and I am really looking forward to see how the product and company grow and evolve over the forthcoming months.
