As part of our Meet the Team Series, we catch up with Gabriele Kukauskaite, Front End Developer
Gabriele works in the engineering team at ThoughtRiver building lovable experiences for our world-leading AI contract review platform.
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your history?
I grew up in Lithuania and first came to the UK to study Computer Science over eight years ago. Pretty soon after graduating I found my first software developer job and have been in this field ever since. I have worked at companies of varying team sizes, tech stacks and sectors where each posed different challenges to solve allowing me to develop a wide skillset. A couple of years in, I discovered that I enjoyed working on the user interface and have been focusing since on developing my career in that direction.
Why did you join ThoughtRiver?
Before joining ThoughtRiver, I spoke with my would-be colleagues, and I got the impression that everyone thoroughly enjoyed working there. I felt that ThoughtRiver’s values aligned with my own and what I wanted from my next job to be able to grow professionally. Given that ThoughtRiver has a relatively small team, I knew I was going to be able to make an impact and take ownership of the work that I do.
What are you most looking forward to working on at ThoughtRiver?
I look forward to working on new user interface features which allow our clients to have a more enjoyable and streamlined experience. Being a front-end developer, my work is directly used by our clients and our own team, therefore I’m eager to see the features I work on come to life.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I enjoy playing video games, board games and trying out different crafts including crocheting little toys or making metal models. I also like being outside and especially love going on walks and hikes. This year I have been solo travelling around Europe and I hope to continue that in the next upcoming year.
